Use multi-room control on your speaker or display Google Nest Help

And they don’t discriminate — Home Max mishears me just as often as the Home Hub. At some point, I decided to go all-in on having Google Home devices around. For the rooms that don’t have one, a Mini is likely close enough for it and pick up my voice.

Sometimes that goes well, and other times, it’s very broken. You can also set Eco Temperatures manually on any of your Nest thermostats to save energy in one part of your home. Your other Nest thermostats will continue to run their normal temperature schedule to keep you comfortable. You can transfer your session at any time to a speaker group you’ve already created (for example, you can create a group for all the speakers in your home called "All Speakers"). On your Nest display, tap the active media card to bring up the media player. On your Nest display, when media is playing, tap the active media card to bring up the media player.

I can control my smart home with my voice from anywhere I stand. I can turn on, dim, and turn off lights in various rooms with just my voice. It’s as close as I can get to living on the Enterprise. At the bottom left corner of your screen, tap Devices to find a list of available devices.

To make life easier, you can also get Google to send the list to your phone by asking it to do so straight afterwards - "OK Google, send that to my phone." Open the Google Home app and go to the device’s settings you want to modify or change. Select Wifi and then click on Forget Password; it will head you to change your password and connect it. Connecting your Google and Bluetooth speaker is POSSIBLE. If you want same music in different rooms then connect your Bluetooth and Google speaker together.

Alternatively, you can cast to the group from your music app. In apps like Spotify or YouTube Music, tapping the cast icon or the Devices available option will bring up a list of potential casting targets. You can either choose an individual speaker, or the group that includes several speakers in one area. Once you have all your speakers connected to a group, you may want to give them each some room to get that perfect sound.

It also helps prevent accidental access to inappropriate content which might be cast through Google Home/Nest devices to a Chromecast or other castable device. Strategically placed around your home, can several Google Home or Nest devices improve your life? This feature explains what you can do with multiple Google Home and Nest speakers and why it's worthwhile. I have created a way to fix this issue and it works flawlessly via the app and voice to control them On/Off, Dim level, and change the color. NO CODE REQUIRED. You don’t have to move them out of the room either so you can also control all of them together like you normally would. It should be enough for Google to tell them apart — to know that the one I’m standing next to and talking directly into is better.

Arrange Your Speakers

I have two Google homes in the same room but I never know which one is going to answer when I ask a question or set a timer. I have them linked as a group for music and that works fine. But I would like both of them to respond to questions or to timers at the same time.

Note that every Google Home app can only offer support for one Spotify account. Therefore, to access the service on multiple devices, Home members need to have their voice registered on the speaker. Additionally, they need to install the Google Home app on their individual smartphones.

If I ask Google Assistant to play music in the “Family room,” the Assistant will play my music on all three speakers at the same time. I never thought my home might be haunted - until now. There will be times when I turn off the TV, hang up on a call, or just walk out of the bathroom and hear something in another room.

You need to have Google Home and one other device that supports pairing with it. Check out this article for more info on How many Google speakers can you pair. This is a headache for obvious reasons but the other issue is you then cant turn them all on or off together now.

When I muted one or whispered to one so the other couldn't hear me it happened in about 2 seconds. It's not an incredibly huge deal, but in the end no you don't want to in the same room unless you mute one of them. Pop one in the kitchen so you can add stuff to your shopping list, and have one in the bedroom so you can ask it what to wear to work . Explicitly reference the name of the home in question when issuing voice commands.

Once that's done, you're then ready to cast audio to the speakers in that group. (Pocket-lint) - Google's smart AI-assistant speakers are backed by Google's powerful search algorithms and ecosystem, making them a great addition to any smart home. If you're considering a purchase - or you've been given a couple as a gift - you might be wondering what multiple Google Nest or Nest Hub devices are capable of.

While Google makes some great speakers, speaker groups are not limited to Google-made devices. As a general rule of thumb, as long as the speaker works with Google Assistant and is seen in Google Home, you can more than likely place it in a speaker group. I have one in pretty much every room in the house, and in some rooms, I have two.
